Call for Application for International Research Group on the topic of Rule of Law and Fight against Corruption

Politikon Network, Network for International Law Students (NILS) Montenegro Chapter, student organization ADAMAS at the University of Montenegro Faculty of law and Montenegrin Association of Political Science Students are pleased to announce:

Deadline: 14 September 2017 (23:59 CET)

The call is open to:  students of law and political science, young lawyers, legal and political analysts, as well as those who are interested in the rule of law and the fight against corruption. Our aim is to recruit as many countries as possible from around the world to participate in this International Research Group.

The International Research Group is gathering students and young professionals from dozens of countries around the world to analyze and critically consider the key dilemmas of legal and political systems of the countries where the participants come from, in order to encourage discussion of current problems and good practices in strengthening the rule of law and the fight against corruption.

In an attempt to strengthen the Rule of Law, many people have been confronted with a series of obstacles, such as: absolute power, party state, corrupt judicial and political systems, ineffectual justice, limited access to justice, using principles of rule of law in a way that denies that principles, discriminatory laws, nepotism, partocracy, manipulation of democracy, as well as legal and political monopoly. It is intended that the research group points to the existing situation in the areas of legislation, judicial system, fight against corruption, human rights, democratic political culture and the influence of public policy. If you are interested in any of the above mentioned areas of research, innovative and analytical, wanting to acquire new knowledge and enhance your research and writing skills, we invite you to sign up for members of our International Research Group.

The final publication will be presented at an international conference entitled Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which will be held in November 2017 in Podgorica, Montenegro. The conference is a part of the series of conferences SDG+, which will be hosted by the Network for International Law Students (NILS) in 17 different countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America. This project is a modest attempt on behalf of NILS to help promote the Sustainable Development Goals and take a step towards achieving Agenda 2030.
